12th July 2009 Windsurfing: The Dip-Felixstowe Wind Direction: ssw Wind Stength: 12/18 Surf / Sea State: bumpy Air Temperature: 18 Sea Temperature: 16 Weather: sunny periods Max Speed: 26.03 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 26 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Out for a family pub lunch as the wind was light,then took my gear to the dip at 4 with abit of a breeze coming.Meter reading 12 kts so rigged 9.4 and went out on the carve 145(not my favourite board as I keep spinning out) Steve C and Ian also out with big kit.It was okay for awhile then the wind filled in and I managed to put my hand through my beloved 9.4 (ebay here I come again) so go ashore and rig 7.5 with the xantos.Steve changes down to 6m and Mark D arrives and goes out with 5.7 !!! This xantos combination is perfect for Felistowe and I had great fun blasting at top speed in the lumpy chop.My son Rob was out kiting with me for the first time this year with his 13m.Just one sticky moment when my adjustable outhaul line broke but just knoted line and carried on and did'nt get off the water until gone 8 !!! and fingers crossed more tomorrow :) |
